Wtf!

This company has got to be out of their ever lovin minds! It will take a couple of hours to fix my car but they want to take a month and a half to pay the shop! And hello..... suprise... I dont get my car back till the shop gets paid! The reason people get warranties is because they cannot afford to pay or are unwilling to pay the full price to fix a problem. This company is full of....oil.... this customer is so very Not happy!!!! If I had not already purchased the darn thing I wouldnt be with them!!

Great Lakes Warranty Co. is a Fraud

I have a landrover discovery that died on me. I have had the car two years. I was told I need head gaskets. When the certified mechanic called them to put in a claim they told him to tear down the car, which would cost me a grand, and that they would then send out an inspector. They were hunting for a way to not cover the parts. I talked to great lakes and they said they "reserve the right" to inspect the car and it is part of the process. B/S. If the mechanic told you what I need, that shoud be enough. The rest is just a way to find anything possible to get out of paying. I am now forced to not get my car fixed and eat the costs at trade-in. I was also told by several garages that they will not accept payment directly from great lakes anymore because great lakes has not paid them in the past. This company is a huge fraud. They take our money and do not spend any in return. Where do customers "reserve their right" for satisfaction?

Great Lakes Warranty doesn't pay for repairs

When I purchased my 2000 VW Beetle a year and a half ago I also bought an extended warranty from Great Lakes Warranty Company. Recently my engine blew and I had my mechanic call Great Lakes to open a claim. They sent out an inspector and he/she said that a $20 radiator hose caused the engine to blow. This inexpensive part was not covered in my policy and therefore they wouldn't pay for a replacement engine. This is outrageous! What's the point in having the warranty. I should have just put the money I would have spent on the warranty in my savings account to pay for repairs when something came up. Their motto is "unmatched quality, integrity and value. That's laughable!

I've hated trying to deal with Great lakes Warranty, and I wasn't the least bit shocked to find this website. We purchased a warranty with them on our 2005 Honda Odyssey.

The compressor went out during one of the hottest weeks we've had so far, and "Jack" at GLW couldn't care less. The people at the repair shop were very kind and understanding, but GLW was trying to tell me that a Honda certified dealer/service department "didn't know what the (blank) they were talking about".

Now we can't get ANYONE on the phone! Does anyone have the appropriate contact numbers for the Atty General that has jurisdiction over this company?

I'm owed money since Sept 09. It's July 14 2010 today.

They do not pick up there phone calls now. You can call all day long and no one is avaliable to pick up the phone. If you ask for the SALES dept.. guess what..

they pick up the phone on the first bell. This company is fraud.

People we need to start a Class action suit. I'm sure there's more of us in the same boat.

Similar situation - $1200 for warranty got approval for $600 repairs then no pay.. Mechanic wants to sell my car for the cost or repairs.

Told him only way I could pay is if the warranty company OKed and did the job.

This is appears to have criminal aspects.

I lived next door to one of the owners and let me tell you, he is *** of the earth. He has nice brand new $500,000 house that was paid off instead of settling with his clients.

The company has a hard time making payroll.

They'll be closed by the end of the year. I would try to get what you can before they close up shop.

I too have been waiting over 100 days for them to pay for a claim that i have filed! I was called by one of their supervisors who lied straight to my face and told me that my claim was settled and my check would arrive the following week!

That was three weeks ago...when i called them back and asked them why I hadn't received my check they said that they would have never said that because my claim was still being processed! I have filed a report with the better business bureau and finally talked to a rep from GLWC today who said that he couldn't discuss anything further with me because it was a legal matter with the BBB now!

My next step is to speak to a friend of mine at Channel 4 news here in Pittsburgh to start an investigative report about them...maybe something will get done when they are on the 5 o'clock news! If you are in the Pittsburgh area and been screwed over by these guys let me know so we can get as much ammunition against these crooks as we can!

Its been 4 months now for me and still continue to get that my claim is "in process." And every time I call they hand me off to people's voice mails. And no one calls back. I would be willing to band together with you guys and go after them.

I'm about to begin the process of taking Great Lakes to small claims court, though I think I'll win I'm not optimistic that they will pay. Still, I have to try.

I've read on another consumer complaint website that they have not paid claims since mid 2009 and are on the *** of bankruptcy. Not sure how this will effect any payment people have already won in small claims court or future class action lawsuits.

Great Lakes Warranty Co.

I manage a repair shop, the representitive told me how much he would pay for parts and how much he would pay for labor, I told him he did not set my prices, he told me to tell the customer to take his car elsewhere to have repaired then told me I was lucky I was so far away because he would kick my ***, I almost jumped in my car to meet him when he got off work, what a joke this company is. I have been in the auto repair buisness for 20 plus years and have never had to deal with a warranty company this bad. Rob
